For When You Need Grace to Replace The Guilt

For When You Need Grace to Replace The Guilt.jpg

Sometimes, a day’s worth of writing is made up of a lot of staring at blank pages and waiting for the words to come.

And some days, it takes so much energy to do simple tasks, to check things off a to-do list, to convince ourselves to do things we know we need to do.

And on those days, the ones filled with procrastination and lack of motivation, we can often let ourselves be overcome with guilt.

Guilt. The opposite of freedom.

The Key To The Christian Life (Hebrews Bible Study: Week 12)

The Key To The Christian Life (Hebrews Bible Study- Week 12).png

Welcome to the second to last week of our weekly Hebrews Bible Study, right here on Scattered Journal Pages. It’s almost over, and I can’t believe it.

These Tuesdays with all of you, spent digging into the Word of God have meant so much to me, as has your support. I adore the book of Hebrews, and the soul-level truths discussed in it. While I could never do the book proper justice, I have been loving taking the extra time to really study Hebrews and see points I would’ve missed if I hadn’t taken the time to slow down and really read.

Why I Journal

Why I Journal

I originally wrote this post for Joanny White. Click here to read the original post.

Journaling has been something that I’ve done for a long time. Whether I completely realized what I was doing or why, when I was younger, I’m not completely sure. However, I do know that keeping a somewhat-consistent journal has benefited me immensely as I’ve grown – both physically and spiritually.

So without further adieu, I give you five reasons why I journal.

How To Be Discerning in the Books We Read

How To Be Discerning in the Books We Read

This post was originally written for Literary Cafe as a guest post. For those of you who haven’t read it, enjoy!

I’ve been passionate about books for as long as I can remember. There’s something about falling into a world created by an author that’s simply magical – the feeling of sinking deeply into characters’ heads, of exploring realms, of reading words that seem like liquid gold.

And yet something that’s equally important to me is this idea of discernment; of being intentional regarding what I read, and knowing that the views presented, whether upfront or not, will influence me in some way.

Jesus Has Made You Enough (Hebrews Bible Study- Week 10)

Welcome to the tenth week of our Hebrews Bible Study, everyone! This week we’re contemplating Hebrews 10, one of the fullest and most exciting chapters in all of Hebrews. I know I keep saying this, but Hebrews 10 is seriously another favorite chapter in this book.

Grab your favorite drink and a Bible, and come glean truth with us. You’re welcome to start right here, even if you haven’t read all (or any) of the previous ones. However, if you’d like to, feel free to read through the past nine weeks’, listed below.

Four Myths You Might Be Believing About Pastor’s Kids (And The Truth!)

Four Myths You Might Be Believing About Pastor’s Kids (And The Truth!)

If you know me, or have talked to me a while, you might be aware of the fact that I’m a pastor’s kid.

And let me tell you – it’s a very interesting life. One that most kids don’t experience, and most people don’t understand.

But that’s okay. You might be unintentionally believing some of these myths about us, but here I am, ready to debunk them. You are welcome.
